Install in user account or admin account? 7 Years ago Karma: 0
I just sent an email asking this but realized others might also be interested.

In my Windows7 computer, I have an ADMIN account and a USER account.

Which one should I install ABS into?

If it's the admin account, do I need to install it as "Run as administrator"?

Thanks

It is always better to install under admin account. If you have UAC or User Account Control turned on under Control Panel > User Accounts, it is always better to open the software by right clicking and choosing "Run as administrator" option. You can even right click, open properties and under compatibility tab, select "Run as administrator" option so every time you open it by double-click, it automatically runs under admin permissions.

Carty,
In my user account, I select ABS2.0 and rightclick but there is no 'run as admin'.

There is Properties so I right click that.

On the Compatibility tab, the [ ] Run as admin is greyed out.

So I click the 'Change settings for all users' button.

UAC (or whatever it's called for Win7) requires me to enter my user password so I do.

But the Compat screen still has 'run as admin' greyed out.

"What now, my love?"...as the old song says.

Ok, simply proceed with the software and see if you get any errors on the way and let me known.

Today the installed software opened up okay, so it must have been
your server having issues after I'd had some issues of my own.

Will keep y'all posted.
