do you allow comments and trackbacks? 6 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
hi,

subject says it all. i am wondering, if you allow commebts and trackbacks on your autoblog.

i can see the benefits of them, and read in a tut (by johnno), that he even gets trackbacks on this content.

BUT
with more blogs and more comments it could be to time consuming to read and reply on them. and allowing comments but not reading/replying sucks imho.

BUT
a blog with comments looks more usual

BUT
with more blogs and comments, spam could become an issue...

bit confused here. (hmm, i know, i only used wp for one of my sites until now, and did not allow interaction there.)

speaking on accepting interaction, which is/are your favorite tools?
- i check the plugin dir and there are quite a few. i tried spam karma (sp?) years back, and i looked ok.

any experiences and suggestions are appreciated

thank you,
thomas.

Yes, I allow both comments and trackbacks.

As I've set up each individual blog within my "family" of related blogs (I now have 6), I've posted an announcement on relevant Facebook fan pages inviting people to visit and comment. I also paid someone on fiverr to jump-start commenting on my main blog. So I've received a number of "real" comments.

However, I must say that the majority of unsolicited comments that I get are spam. My WordPress installation is set up with some kind of plug-in that catches these. I can't remember the name of the plug-in; I think it is standard with the current version of WP. It shows me the comments it thinks are spam but leaves it up to me whether to approve them or not.
