IMAGES - Naming problem for FTP? 7 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I use Blogger and so have setup an FTP hosting as per instructions, but am I still having problems with the images.

The source blog does not have the images protected.

I know the FTP hosting is working fine because I connect and upload with FileZilla without any problems.

The Auto Blogging Software, however, is not uploading the files to the FTP hosting account.

I noticed in the body of the posts that ABSoftware names the images according to the post name. For instance, if the post name is "This Is My First Post" then the post references the image URL as being "www.hosting.com/folder/this is my first post.jpg".

I wonder if the spaces between words in the filename are causing the problem? Normally a space should be replaced by "%20".

Shouldn´t the URL (and the FTP filename) be "this%20is%20my%20first%20post.jpg" ?

Or if not, what might be causing the problem?

The space in filenames won't cause problems. But when you lgin to your FTP account using filezilla, does it directly goto the folder you specified or to the root folder (public_html)? You should actually create the FTP account in a way that it directly goes into the folder.

Let me known.

I cannot get the images uploaded.

I´ve been trying for 2 hours and nothing seems to work.

Here is my last version:

Server: ftp.mydomain.com/blogimages/

The images do not upload.
What am I doing wrong????

I think the server name should just be ftp.mydomain.com and the user pass as when you created it. FOr the folder, it will be www.mydomain.com/blogimages/ as that is where you will get the images loaded after upload.

Try it and tell me.

Ok, thanks.

I used ftp.mydomain.com as the server name and managed to get the images uploaded to the root directory, meaning they are accessed at www.domain.com/

I would rather have them stored in a specific directory, like "blogimages". This I could not figure out how to do. Any suggestions?

Simple, when you create a new FTP account on your webhosting control panel, you can specify the folder there.
